Signs of Fall

I Love Fall!
Here is a picture of the fall leaves seen from our land.

Cassie loved the fact the leaves on her "Area" (that is what she calls the section of land she claimed as her own) were changing to fall colors.
Saturday was Scott's birthday. What he wanted to do for his birthday was go on a long 4-wheeler ride. He and my brother went on a 170 mile ride. That gives me and the kids time to just hang out on enjoy our surroundings. We did a little riding too.We love our Home away from Home.
Sunday afternoon we ALL took it easy napping and watch a movie.

It's Hunting Season

Riley joined the "I've shot a deer" club Saturday morning. We went to the land Friday night to spend the weekend. Riley stayed home so he could go hunting with Grandpa Strong Saturday morning. Grandpa came and picked him up at 6 in the morning and they headed up Spanish Fork canyon to Sheep Creek. I guess as the story goes they got up the canyon and realized they didn't have all the components for the muzzle loader gun they were using. Grandma came to the rescue and meet them at the gas station at the mouth of the canyon. They went back up the canyon and saw a deer and guess what? - It was a buck. Riley jumped out of the Samurai and took a shot. Grandpa said "Did you get it", Riley said "I don't know" so grandpa started loading another shot but the deer never crossed the road. They were pretty sure Riley got it.

Grandpa bought Riley to our land to show us the deer. Riley had shot the deer right in the head. He really mangled the skull where the horns connect. I can't believe he got a deer the first time he went hunting. Riley said it didn't feel like hunting because he didn't hike his butt off.
Sueki was guarding that deer the whole time it was there.
A big thanks to Grandpa for taking Riley hunting. A big thanks to Grandma for saving the hunt and meeting them at the gas station.
They were both so happy.................
It was fun for both of them.

I almost know someone famous!

I almost know someone famous!
I work with Italo Elgueta. His son was on "Dancing with the Stars" Wednesday night. This is him and his partner dancing during Jesse Mccartney's song. Dancing during that solo was so cool.
In case you missed this weeks Dancing with the Stars here it is on YouTube.

Italo Jr. has also been in all of the HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL movies.
This is a shot that was in "People" magazine. That is him in the back round. (I have pointed a red arrow at him.)

American Fork vs. Spanish Fork

Yeah! Riley got to play his first Football Game!
Reminder - Riley is #66. It is hard for me to conceive that my little baby boy Riley is that big. He is one of the tallest on his team.
At first Riley just played on the "special teams" when we were punting.

With about 9 minutes to go in the game Riley went in has a regular lineman defender.
He played all 4 downs and even got a really good tackle. (tackling the guy with the ball)
He played periodically after that.

September's Potluck

We have quite the crowd now.
I didn't even get a picture of every one.
Scottie is a September birthday. Finally we will be the same age again.
Here Scott was showing off his magic.
The candle went out with out him evening blowing. WOW!

Gift Card Idea

I made this card holder for my brother-in-law today using an idea I saw on Kristina's website. (sorry the pictures aren't that good)

BYU Football Time!

Riley and I spent some mother / son quality time at the BYU football stadium. A guy at my work with season tickets was selling some so I bought them. We went to the first three home games. It was a lot of fun.

  1. Northern Iowa 17 Provo 41
  2. UCLA 0 Provo 59
  3. Wyoming 0 Provo 44

They said this was the first time BYU had two shut out games in a row since 1985.

Color Inspiration Challenge

The challenge to make a card using these colors.
This is my first time doing the color challenge and I'm not that good at it yet but I'm hoping practice will help. I got off work late and missed the 7:00 time limit but here is my card anyway.

The Hurricane Ike in Galveston

After watching the news tonight I decides to look through my pictures of the the trip Scott and I took in 2006 to Texas. We spent the day on Galveston Island. It really hit me hard seeing the pictures of the destruction of Hurricane Ike. It is weird to think we where in the exact spots of some of the rumble left behind. It really has made me sad to see all of these beautiful places gone. It was a really great trip. We had a great time.
Here is a picture Scott took of me and our friends Dwain and Anita walking back to the car after spending time on the beach. Note the Wendy's in the picture.
There is that same Wendy's. In the distance on the right you see a building..... that is the Murdoch gift shop I will show you below.
Here is a picture of an interesting vehicle we saw on the street. Note the Domino's building.
Look at all of the destruction down the street.
Murdochs was a little gift shop where we shopped. We bought the majority of our souvenirs there. (my picture) Here is a picture of the Murdochs gift shop during the hurricane.

This is the Flagship Hotel 2006.
That is another picture of the Flagship Hotel behind Scott.
This is the Flagship Hotel in the back ground. I couldn't find a picture close up but I read an article the said big chunks of the hotel are missing after the storm.
Well I guess we can count our blessings that we didn't move to Texas.

Welcome Home Prestyn

Look at this beautiful baby............................
Everyone loves him so much. He is all Jason talks about.
I didn't get a picture of Jason this visit but is so excited to have this little guy living so close.
Jason even took over his new stuffed animal from Lagoon "to show Prestyn"

This one is a little blurry but I just love his little face.

Lagoon

Saturday the kids and I went to Lagoon with my brother and sister Karen and her three boys.
We got discount tickets from Karen's work. We are glad she invited us. It was great fun.

We got wet as usual on the Rattle Snack Rapids.
This was the one ride Riley didn't go on.
Cassie and Max did some of the kids rides together.
Don't let this picture fool you................Riley did have fun.
Cassie and Karen where ride buddies for this ride. I can't do rides with repetitive circles.
Cassie really had a great time.
One year has really changed her. She had more fun here then when we went to Disneyland.

Uncle Bubble was Max's ride buddy on this ride.
The kids went on rides from about 11:30am to 9:30pm (except for lunch)
We all had a really good time.

PS we saw cousin Amelia and Uncle Jason there that day as well.
Sounds like they had a great day too.
