Amy Butler Apron Swap!

Well I decided to be brave and a join a online apron swap sponsored by Holly.
I finish my apron and thought I would post some pictures of it before I send it to it's surprise new owner.
Here is proof how much my 15 year old son loves me.
Because of the lack of a dress form my lovely assistant Riley is modeling the apron I made for the swap.
Side view...........I was just not allowed to show his face while wearing the apron.

Showing off the ruffle.
I'm loving the look of the rickrack on the Amy Butler material.
I hope the new owner of this apron likes it.

Strong Family Photo Shoot was well over due.
We hadn't done one since almost 10 years ago.
Just before Sara's Wedding and Britney's mission.
There were only 4 grand kids then so...................
a few were missing (11).
By the way, the kids did really well this freezing January morning.
When we started is was only 19 degrees outside.
It was well worth it!!!

Happy Birthday to Me!

Yesterday was my birthday and I had a very good day at that. I spent the majority of the day sewing an apron for a Apron Swap I joined. It was nice and relaxing. Then at 7pm we got ready and went the the Draper Temple open house.
This picture of the Temple is off the Church's website.
This is us riding the shuttle to the Temple.
(Copied this photo opp. from Sara - Thanks)

Sorry for the poor picture quality but I forgot the camera. I really need one that fits in my purse. At least we had our phone cameras.

I took this picture after the temple tour at the church where we eat a cookie and got on the shuttle back to our car.
A nice gentleman offered to get all of us in the picture.
It was a great experience to go through the temple with the kids.
The kids really thought it was neat to see the beautiful rooms of the temple.
I'm glad we had this opportunity to take them to the open house and it was a bonus for me because it was my birthday.
Afterwords we went out to eat for my birthday dinner.
I decided I would like to go to Winger's. It wasn't the best choice because of the kids in there church clothes but that is what I really wanted for my dinner so that is what we did.
We made it through dinner without any spills or any clothes getting ruined. It was amazing.
The perfect end to a perfect day!

Happy New Year!
My brother Mark had a great idea of spending the day at our land New Years Day.

We brought our snow shovels to make a spot for us. Riley shoveled to the shed where we keep some firewood covered.
The rest of us worked on clearing a spot for our fire barrel.

Scott cut this barrel down for us to roast marshmallows when we came up to our land during the Thanksgiving weekend.
We roasted our lunch this trip. We had hot dogs and smoked sausages for lunch with hot chocolate and smors.
We had made one BIG mistake. None of us realized that we bought HOT smoked sausages.
They were Crazy hot. I'm so glad we bought regular hot dogs too.
We had a great time. You can see the hot burner behind me, that is how we heated up the water for the hot chocolate.
We brought our two dogs Sammy and Suki.
My brother brought his dog Izzy. They had a lot of fun running around in the snow.

The kids decided to make a snowman. Riley had the base. Jason worked on the middle and Cassie worked on the head.
My brother donated his hat for a little while (at least long enough for this picture)
I think it was a pretty darn good looking snowman if I do say so myself.

But he made it!
