Quilt for my cousin

My cousin Sharlene had a beautiful baby boy in March.
I was planning to make her a quilt anyway but when we talked she ask me if I would make the quilt out of camouflage material.
I decided to use the crazy patch quilt pattern with several camo patterns and outdoor fabrics.
I used the feather stitch to quilt it. It is a really cool look I learned in one of my sewing classes.
It was fun to make. I hope her and her new baby enjoy it.

I had to share this picture my sister-in-law posted on her facebook page.
This is 26 out of 29 of us in St. George climbing rocks.
Britney set the timer on her camera for this picture. I think it turned out great.
Thanks Britney!!!

Vintage Flirty Swap

On my vacation in St. George I finished my apron for this swap.
I found these fabrics last month when I was in St. George.
They are vintage reprints so I thought they would be great for this swap.

I hope my swap partner likes her package.
Here are the vintage dish clothes I found to go with the apron I made.

Hooray for CUPCAKES!!!!!!

Here are the two items I sent out to my Hooray for Cupcakes Swap.
Yes, it is a different cupcake pin cushion then I made before.
I like this pattern too.
I hope Danielle in Pennsylvania likes them.
Here is Cassie modeling the cupcake apron.
I decided to buy some labels to put on my items I make.
It is kind of fun having a way to label your projects.

Easter Weekend

Sunday Afternoon:
Easter Egg Hunt at Grandma Strong's
Jason hid the eggs this year.
Riley didn't really do much of anything.
Sunday Morning:
The Easter Bunny was nice to our kids this year.
They got a bunch of candy and i-tune cards.
They also got a new movie to share.
I picked up the ties and birthstone necklace at the M&M store in Las Vegas.
I forgot to take pictures of them wearing them at church so you will just have to trust me that they looked good in them.
Friday Night:
Prestyn had his first Easter Egg coloring experience.
I don't think he was really sure what is going on.
We had a lot fun coloring eggs at Grandma Nelson's Friday night.
Riley - you are never to old to color eggs.
Jason had to catch up. He had is first baseball practice that night.

Cassie's Easter Shirt

This year I decided to make Cassie an Easter Shirt.
I figured she could wear it to church and school.
I let Cassie pick out the fabric.
She wanted something with "Blue" in it.
I really like how the colors work together.
Thanks Kira for letting me borrow your pattern.
Kira made a dress with the same pattern for her little girl.
(click "little girl" to see how cute she is.)
Cassie and I made a bracelet to match her new shirt.

I think it fits her really good.

Happy Easter!!!!!

Young Women Auxiliary Leadership Training

Last Thursday night in the Tabernacle I went to the Auxiliary Training
for the Young Women Presidencies. As part of my new calling as the First Counselor I went to the meeting with the President - Sister Tonya Shawcroft.
It was a great meeting. I learned a lot. The addition of the new value
"Virtue" has been a great experience for me.
It is funny how things happen, when I was a young women -way back when -
that is when the original 7 values where introduced by Sister Kapp
I hadn't been in the Tabernacle for about 18 years or so..................
and after being in the Conference Center just a few months ago, it was weird how small the Tabernacle felt. It is still has beautiful as ever and you can just feel the spirit and history.
I even thought to myself "If these walls could talk."

Patchwork Pin Cushion Swap

Look at my cool Patchwork Pin Cushion.
Eve from Switzerland made it for me.
I love it! It is cute, well made and very functional.
