Sent out two more swaps today!!

OK, so I went a little crazy before my vacation signing up for swaps.
I'm really enjoying myself though.
This is the bag I made for the "handmade handbag swap".
It went to Tracy in Bessemer Alabama.
She is a school teacher there.
I think it is a good size bag. I hope she will enjoy it.

This is the pin cushion I made for the "Patchwork Pin Cushion Swap".
It went to Melody in Astoria Oregon.
This was the first time I have made a pin cushion like this.
I think it turned out pretty good.

I Got my Wallet/pouch!

I got this very cute coin purse from my swap partner
Jennifer Noland from El Sobrante, CA.
The post card is from Lake Pend Oreille in Northern Idaho.
I haven't heard of it before but the back of the post card says it is a Lake totally surrounded by mountains. It is 43 miles across and is great for sailing.
I love the stitched on tree. It is so simple but yet very cute.

Time to Swap Again!

Handmade Wallet/pouch Swap
I sent my swap out to my partner in Ireland this past week.
Tian Kureel is a 18 year old who likes Japanese things.
I found this fabric that had a oriental feel to it. I hope she likes it.

My Great Vacation!

Day #1 Friday First Day of Vacation! - we drove to St. George for our first night. We shopped around a bit (gun stores) and then eat at In-N-Out Burger.
(By the way, we eat there about 5 times on our trip) We love it!

Day #2 Saturday at St. George - I spent the day fabric shopping and getting a pedicure while Scott went to his RC Rock Crawling competition.

As you can tell I had a lot of fun.

Thanks to my friend Shannon for giving me some great stores to hit.

Here are my cute toes.

Day #3 Sunday First Day on the Cruise

Ship leaving the San Diego Port.
Day #4 Monday Catalina Island

I love this picture.

We rented a golf cart to see the island.

Day #5 Tuesday Ensenada Mexico - we sent the day at the Blow Hole. It was really cool.

La Bufadora "The Blow Hole"

The flagpole for this Mexican flag is 300 feet tall.

Here is a beautiful sunset at the port in Mexico.
Day #6 Wednesday - was the day out at sea and our last night on the cruise.

Every night we played cards with our friends Rod and Maudie.

Day #7 Thursday at San Diego

We found a beach when we got off the ship.

There were these things growing on the rocks......I don't know what they are.

We saw lots of little crab friends.

Scott's favorite the "Hermit Crab"

We had dinner with my Aunts Ruth and Pam.
My mother had sent them a package for there birthdays.
She gave them each a pair of sock slippers, cupcake pincushion and a scrap bag.
I think they loved them.

Day #8 Friday Night at Las Vegas

Day #9 No Pictures - just hung out in Vegas for awhile and then went to Cedar City for final night in a Hotel.

Day #10 Home Safe and Sound!!

Happy Birthday Swap!

Yeah!!!!
I got my Happy Birthday Apron.
I love it!
It is very colorful and perfect for a birthday party.
Notice the the variegated rickrack........It is just like the rickrack I sent out to my ribbon swap partners.
I love this fabric that my swap partner Glenna for Oklahoma picked out for me.
It is fun getting new things that you have never seen before.
This is a cupcake pin cushion that she made out of wool strips.

Happy Birthday Swap!

Monday I sent out another apron swap.
This was called "Happy Birthday Apron Swap".
The apron was to be made out of Birthday material or have a embroidery "Happy Birthday" design on it.
My swap partner shared her love for cupcakes on her profile.
I found this great cupcake design and Happy Birthday in this cool font on the same design CD.
We were also encouraged to send some sort of birthday present with our apron.
I saw this cupcake pincushion in a book at Corn Wagon Quilt shop and I had to make it!
This is a Birthday Card I got from a card swap and it works prefect for this package.
I also sent a cupcake recipe that I got from my friend Shannon's blog.
I think my swap partner should enjoy her package.

Cassie's Second Competition

Saturday Cassie had a competition in Helper.
Doesn't she look a LITTLE nervous,
And then a LITTLE happy.
She got 5th place on the Double Mini.
And 3rd place on the flour exercise.

Cassie competed at level 4 on the floor. A level higher then last time. This is the first pass.

This is the first pass on the Double Mini. She competed at level 5 - the same as last time.

This is the second pass and the hardest one. She almost landed it!!

I'm so proud of her.

Sorry a little out of order but here is the 2nd pass on the floor.

I have seen so much improvement in Cassie in many ways since starting gymnastics.

  • She is not as shy around her teammates
  • She has more self confidence
  • She is more coordinated
  • And the strength in her arms

(when she started she couldn't even hold her self up)

This is Cassie at the gym practicing front flips with the belt on the tramp.

This time she fell but it is a clearer picture.

Willy Wonka!!!!
Friday Night we went to see my niece Devyn in the play Willy Wonka.
It was really good. Devyn loves singing and dancing.
She is a great performer.
Good JOB SARA!
I know it is hard on Sara to have Devyn participant in these programs. It takes a lot of time to get her to rehearsals and performance.
Cassie and Devyn
Great friends and cousins.
